Refrigerator pickles
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 3/4 c
- water - 1 qt
- vinegar
- clove garlic - 1 item
- mustard seed - 4 tsp
- cucumbers - 1 item
- onion good size - 1 item
- pod hot pepper or 6 to 8 peppercorns - 1 item
How to make refrigerator pickles:
Slice cucumbers in a gallon jar. Mix vinegar, water, salt and sugar. Stir and let stand while slicing cucumbers. Slice onion; put on top of sliced cucumbers along with 1 garlic clove, pepper and mustard seed. Pour liquid over and close. Refrigerate.Can use 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic instead of garlic clove. I put small amount of dill seed sometimes. I usually have a little bit of liquid leftover.
