Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2/3 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • water
  • cider vinegar - 1 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • sliced radishes - 1 c
  • slices bacon, diced - 8 item
  • cooked potatoes, cubed - 8 c

How to make baked german potato salad:

Fry bacon until crisp. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup grease. Return grease to skillet; add celery and onions. Cook 1 minute. Blend in flour. Stir in water and vinegar. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture is thick and bubbly. Stir in sugar, salt and pepper. Put potatoes and bacon in a greased 3-quart casserole. Pour thickened sauce over potatoes and bacon. Stir, cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Stir in radishes. Serve.
