Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 6 item
  • vanilla
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter - 3/4 lb
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • cake flour

How to make pound cake:

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs singlely, beating after each. Sift flour before measuring. Add other dry ingredients, then sift again. Add alternately with milk and vanilla. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
