Potato soup
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- self-rising flour - 1 Tbsp
- Crisco
- pepper - 1 tsp
- salt and pepper - 1 tsp
- finely chopped onion - 1 c
- cubed potatoes - 5 c
- small container onion dip - 1 item
- milk to thickness - 1 item
How to make potato soup:
White Sauce:2 Tbsp. Crisco1 Tbsp. self-rising flour milk to thickness1 tsp. salt and pepper Cook potatoes, onion and salt in water until potatoes are tender. Drain water. Put butter, pepper and onion dip on top of hot potatoes in soup pan. Set aside.In a skillet, heat Crisco to hot; stir in flour and lightly brown. Pour milk in hot flour paste and stir to make a creamy white sauce mixture (amount of milk depends on desired thickness). Add salt and pepper. Pour over potato mixture and simmer 20 minutes.
