  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • nuts - 1 c
  • raisins - 1 c
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • mashed potatoes - 1 c
  • well beaten eggs - 3 item
  • pear preserves - 1 c

How to make potato cake:

Cream together sugar, shortening and cocoa. Add eggs and mashed potatoes. Dissolve soda in small amount of warm water. Add soda and buttermilk. Stir in flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Add vanilla. Mix well. Fold in nuts, raisins and pear preserv
