Ingredients/Components
- American cheese - 1/2 lb
- onions, diced - 3 item
- Cheddar cheese - 1/2 lb
- 1/2 sticks butter - 2 item
- bow tie noodles - 1 pkg
- to 12 potatoes, boiled and mashed or instant mashed potatoes 12 servings - 10 item
How to make pierogi casserole:
Cook noodles; drain and add 1 stick of butter while hot. Shred cheese. Mash potatoes and add cheese while hot. Cook diced onions in butter. Using a 9 x 13-inch baking pan, layer bow ties, mashed potatoes and onion-butter mixture. Repeat, ending with bow ties. Pour remaining butter and onions over all. Salt and pepper to taste.
