Picante sauce

Ingredients/Components

• salt - 3 tsp
• vinegar - 3/4 1
• pepper - 1/2 tsp
• tomatoes - 5 lb
• onions - 1 lb
• hot peppers - 2 lb

How to make picante sauce:

Chop or grind peppers and onions. Peel tomatoes or use canned tomatoes. Add onions and pepper to chopped tomatoes. Simmer 10 minutes. Seal in pint or half-pint jars. Process 15 minutes, if desired. Makes 6 to 8 pints.
