Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/4 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- cold water - 1/2 c
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- soft butter - 2 Tbsp
- white syrup - 1/2 c
- pecans - 1/2 c
- cake compressed yeast - 1 item
- flour, sifted before measuring - 3 c
- Add the shortening and sugar
- Roll up like jelly roll; cut into 12 pieces
How to make pecan rolls:
Scald the milk. Add the shortening and sugar. Stir until dissolved, then add the cold water. Crumble in the yeast, stirring until dissolved. Add the egg and flour; knead to get rid of stickiness. Roll into rectangle. Add filling.Filling:3 Tbsp. brown sugar2 Tbsp. soft butter1 tsp. cinnamon1/4 c. chopped pecans Add filling on top of dough. Roll up like jelly roll; cut into 12 pieces. Place rolls in pan over the topping.Topping:1/4 c. butter or melted oleo1/2 c. brown sugar1/2 c. white syrup1/2 c. pecans Cover; let rise for 1 hour.
