Peanut brittle
Ingredients/Components
- cups sugar - 2 item
- cup white syrup - 1 item
- cup water - 1/2 item
- raw Spanish peanuts - 1 lb
- Butter, size of walnut - 1 item
- salt
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- soda
How to make peanut brittle:
Boil sugar, syrup and water till it forms very hard piece when dropped in cold water. Add peanuts and stir constantly. Cook 10-12 minutes till mixture begins to turn brown. Add salt, butter and vanilla. Cook a little longer till mixture becomes a little darker. Then add soda. Mixture must be stirred quickly as it's removed from stove so it won't foam up and boil over. Pour on buttered cookie sheet. I don't flatten it much because all those little air bubbles keep it from getting too hard to eat.
