Peanut blossoms

Ingredients/Components

eggs - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
flour - 3 c
brown sugar - 1 c
soda - 2 tsp
baking powder - 1 tsp
shortening - 1 c
peanut butter - 1 c
white sugar - 1 c
chocolate candy kisses I use Hershey miniature kisses - 1 pkg

How to make peanut blossoms:

Cream shortening and peanut butter; add sugar and beat well. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until fluffy. Sift flour, measure; add salt, soda and baking powder; sift again. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and mix thoroughly. Chill in refrigerator. (I don't always do this.) Shape dough into balls 1 inch in diameter. (I use the small Pampered Chef scoop.) Place 2-3 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes. Remove and press a chocolate kiss in center of each cookie. Return to oven and bake for 4 minutes more. Makes 7 dozen.
