English toffee cookies
Ingredients/Components
- c butter - 1 item
- t salt - 1 item
- c flour - 2 item
- c brown sugar - 1 item
- egg yolk, beaten - 1 item
- t vanilla - 1 item
- c crushed pecans or peanuts - 1 item
- 1/2 t vegetable oil - 1 item
- dash salt - 1 item
How to make english toffee cookies:
Cream together butter, sugar and salt. Add beaten egg yolk, flour and vanilla. Mix well. Scrape batter into an ungreased 12 x 17 jelly roll pan and pat out evenly. Baked on the lowest shelf of oven, 15-20 minutes at 350 F. Remove from oven and while still hot, lay squares of Hershey bars on top. Spread the chocolate with spatula to cover and sprinkle with topping (pecans, oil and salt mixed together). Put back in the oven for 5 minutes at 350 F. Cut into squares.
