Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • eggs, beaten - 6 item
  • light corn syrup - 2 Tbsp
  • brown sugar, packed - 1 c
  • slices sandwich bread - 12 item

How to make overnight caramel french toast:

Combine sugar, butter and syrup in small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Pour syrup mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Place 6 slices of bread on top of syrup. Top with remaining 6 slices of bread.

Combine eggs, milk, vanilla and salt, stirring until well blended. Pour evenly over bread. Cover and chill 8 hours or overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes until lightly browned.

Delicious company breakfast with bacon and fresh fruit!
