Oriental chicken wings
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/3 c
- soy sauce - 1/3 c
- dry sherry - 1 Tbsp
- chicken wings - 10 item
- m - 1/2 tsp
- anise seed - 1/2 tsp
How to make oriental chicken wings:
Cut tips off wings and discard; then cut wings in 2 at joint. Wash in warm water and dry. Put cleaned wings and above ingredients into a heavy pan and bring to boil. Lower heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even color. Remove cover and simmer for another 15 minutes until about 1/2 cupful of liquid remains. Baste frequently. Spoon liquid on wings and serve hot or cold. This can be made a day ahead. You can make up to 20 wings with the same amount of sauce.Recipe categories: Appetizers, Chicken, Chicken wing.
