Orange pecan bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- grated orange rind - 3 Tbsp
- fresh orange juice - 1/2 c
- pecans, chopped fine - 1 c
How to make orange pecan bread:
Stir dry ingredients. Cut in shortening with pastry blender. Add milk, orange juice and egg; mix only until dry ingredients are dampened. Add rind and nuts. Pour into greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Let sit 20 minutes before baking 1 hour in a 350° oven. Let stand 5 minutes before turning out on rack to cool. Store overnight before cutting.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Time to make.
