Orange cake



  • sugar
  • eggs - 4 item
  • water - 1/2 c
  • vegetable oil - 1/2 c
  • orange juice - 1/2 c
  • oranges - 2 item
  • box orange jello - 1 item
  • orange juice concentrate - 1/4 c
  • grated rind of 2 oranges
  • Duncan Hines butter yellow cake mix - 1 pkg

How to make orange cake:

Glaze:1 c. sugar1/4 c. water grated rind of 2 oranges1/4 c. orange juice concentrate Grease heavily and flour a Bundt pan. Sprinkle grated rind of one orange over bottom and sides of pan. Place cake and jello mix in large mixing bowl. Add orange juice, water, oil and eggs. Mix 2 minutes. Pour batter in pan and bake at 325° for 50 to 60 minutes, or until done. Remove from oven. Immediately, while still in pan, punch holes in hot cake with ice pick and pour about 2/3 of the prepared glaze over top and let trickle into cake and down the sides. Let cake cool in pan completely. Return remaining 1/3 of glaze material to stove to thicken. Add remaining orange rind to mixture. Invert cake on plate and pour remaining thickened glaze over cake as soon as removed from pan.

Glaze For Orange Cake: Combine ingredients. Boil 2 or 3 minutes before pouring over cake.
