Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 3/4 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 3/4
- self-rising flour - 8 c
- orange flavoring - 3/4 tsp
How to make old fashioned tea cakes:
Mix together dry ingredients. Add eggs, then shortening and flavorings. Roll out dough and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 325° for approximately 10 minutes.Variation: Omit flavorings and add a pinch of nutmeg.
