  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • butter - 3 Tbsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/3 c
  • walnuts - 1/2 c
  • grated apples - 2 c
  • Sift flour with soda and salt, add to cream mixture alternating with milk and apples

How to make old fashioned apple cake:

Cream sugar with shortening; add egg. Sift flour with soda and salt, add to cream mixture alternating with milk and apples. Add walnuts, vanilla and cinnamon, mix well. Pour batter into a lightly greased and floured 13 X 9 inch pan.Topping:1/2 c. brown
