  • sugar - 2 c
  • shortening - 1 c
  • half and half - 1 c
  • flour - 5 c
  • baking powder - 5 tsp
  • soda
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • almond extract - 2 tsp
  • Beat until well mixed and creamy again
  • melted butter - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item

How to make old fashioned sugar cookies:

Beat eggs until creamy; add sugar, shortening and half and half. Beat until well mixed and creamy again. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to first mixture. Drop heaping tablespoonful on foil covered cookie sheet. Flatten with spoon and sprinkle with sugar. Bake lightly until browned at 375°.Frosting:1 box powdered sugar1/2 c. melted butter1 tsp. vanilla1 egg
