Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- melted butter
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- apples, chopped not too fine - 2 c
How to make apple cake:
Topping:1 Tbsp. melted butter1/2 c. brown sugar2 Tbsp. flour1/2 c. chopped nuts1 tsp. cinnamon Sift sugar, salt, soda, flour and baking powder into bowl. Add shortening, milk, egg and vanilla. Mix on medium speed of mixer. Fold in apples.Topping: Mix until crumbly and spread over the top of the cake mixture. Bake in 350° oven for 45 minutes. Use a well-greased and floured loaf pan or use an 8 1/2-inch square Pyrex pan.
