  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • evaporated milk - 1/4 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • plain flour
  • oleo - 1/2 c
  • quick oats - 1 c
  • nuts, finely chopped - 1 c
  • stick oleo - 1 item
  • can coconut - 1 item
  • Cream together oleo, brown sugar, sugar, eggs, salt and cinnamon; add oatmeal mixture and blend well

How to make oatmeal cake:

Mix oats and boiling water together; set aside to cool. Cream together oleo, brown sugar, sugar, eggs, salt and cinnamon; add oatmeal mixture and blend well. Add flour and soda. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.Topping:2/3 c. brown sugar1 can coconut1/4 c. evaporated milk1 stick oleo1 c. nuts, finely chopped1 tsp. vanilla Mix well and spread on cake as soon as the cake is done. Brown under broiler.
