Divinity fudge
Ingredients/Components
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- egg whites - 3 item
- cup water - 1/2 item
- cup chopped pecans - 1 item
- cup sugar - 2-2/3 item
- cup light corn syrup - 2/3 item
How to make divinity fudge:
Stir sugar, syrup and water until sugar is dissolved in saucepan. Cook without stirring to 260 degrees on a candy thermometer.In mixing bowl, (while syrup is cooking), beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Pour hot syrup in egg whites while beating. Add almond and nuts. Continue beating until mixture holds its shape and gets dull. You will have to begin beating by hand as candy thickens. Drop by spoonfuls on greased waxed paper. Makes about 4 dozen pieces.
