  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • confectioners sugar
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • cream - 1/3 c
  • oatmeal - 1 c
  • flour all-purpose
  • water boiling
  • Cream butter and sugars; add eggs and vanilla

How to make oatmeal cake:

Pour water over oatmeal and let stand 20 minutes. Cream butter and sugars; add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Add oatmeal and dry ingredients; blend well. Bake at 350° until done in a 9 x 13 pan (greased and floured).Icing:1 stick butter1/3 c. cream1 1/2 c. brown sugar1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar Mix butter, cream and brown sugar and cook for 2 minutes. Add confectioners sugar and beat until smooth. Spread over cool cake.
