Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • evaporated milk - 1 can
  • water
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • plain flour
  • pecans - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • small can angel flake coconut - 1 item
  • oatmeal cook 3 minutes, let cool - 1 c
  • Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 pan

How to make oatmeal cake:

Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture and stir just enough to blend. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Topping:1 stick margarine1 c. brown sugar1 can (5 oz.) evaporated milk1 small can angel flake coconut1 c. pecans Combine margarine, sugar, milk and coconut; boil for 3 minutes, stir in pecans. Spread on top of hot cake. Put under broiler until topping is bubbly and coconut toasted.
