Mexican cornbread
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- buttermilk - 2/3 c
- cornmeal - 2 c
- melted shortening - 2/3 c
- shredded cheese
- can creamed corn - 1 item
- can green chili peppers - 1 oz
How to make mexican cornbread:
Combine all ingredients in bowl, except for cheese. Mix well. Pour 1/2 batter in a hot greased 9 or 10-inch pan. Sprinkle cheese on top and cover with remaining batter. Cook at 450° for 40 to 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, North american.
