Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1 tsp
  • water - 3/4 c
  • cold water - 1 Tbsp
  • oil - 1/2 tsp
  • vinegar - 3/4 c
  • rolled oats - 3/4 c
  • paprika - 1 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • few drops Tabasco sauce - 1 item
  • chopped water chestnuts - 1/2 c
  • Shape into small balls; place on cookie sheet in 345° oven until done, well browned, then remove from pan and put into sauce

How to make meatballs:

Combine all except oil. Shape into small balls; place on cookie sheet in 345° oven until done, well browned, then remove from pan and put into sauce.

Can be stored in refrigerator several days ahead, can be frozen. Yields 125 bite size meatballs.Sauce:1 c. white wine3/4 c. vinegar3/4 c. water salt to taste1 tsp. paprika1 tsp. cornstarch1 Tbsp. cold water Combine sugar, vinegar, water, salt and paprika in pot; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then mix cornstarch and cold water together and add to sugar/vinegar mixture. Continue to cook/stir for a few minutes. (Sauce will be only slightly thickened.)
