  • water - 6 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • parsley - 2 Tbsp
  • onions, chopped
  • can tomatoes - 1 oz
  • thyme - 1 tsp
  • celery - 1 c
  • potatoes, diced - 2 c
  • carrots, cubed
  • strips bacon whole - 5 item
  • small cans clams and juice - 4 item

How to make manhattan clam chowder:

Cook bacon (leave whole). Saute onions in drippings. Add rest of ingredients and cook until vegetables are tender. Add clams. Heat thoroughly. Remove bacon and serve.
