Macadamia fudge torte
Ingredients/Components
- low-fat sweetened condensed milk - 1/3 c
- semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1/2 c
- vegetable oil - 1/3 c
- ground cinnamon
- spiced pears in light syrup, drained - 16 oz
- eggs - 2 item
- chopped Macadamia nuts or pecans - 1/3 c
- water - 2 tsp
- butterscotch caramel fudge ice cream topping
- milk - 1/3 c
- vanilla ice cream - 1 item
How to make macadamia fudge torte:
Cake:1 pkg. devil's food cake mix (with pudding)1/3 c. vegetable oil1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon16 oz. spiced pears (in light syrup), drained2 eggs1/3 c. chopped Macadamia nuts or pecans2 tsp. water Sauce:17 oz. butterscotch caramel fudge ice cream topping1/3 c. milk vanilla ice cream Place condensed milk and chocolate chips in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring until chocolate is melted, 2 to 3 minutes; set aside. Place cake mix, oil and cinnamon in a large bowl. Blend on low speed 20 to 30 seconds. Mixture will be crumbly. Set aside. Place pears in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.Place 2 1/2 cups of cake mixture, the pears and the eggs in a large mixing bowl. Blend on low until moistened. Increase speed to medium and beat 2 minutes more. Pour batter into a greased and floured pan. Drop the filling by spoonfuls over batter. Stir the nuts and water into remaining cake mixture and sprinkle over the filling. Bake 45 to 50 minutes in a 350° oven.
Place ice cream topping and milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir and cook until well blended, 3 to 4 minutes. Spoon 2 tablespoons of warm sauce onto each plate and top with a slice of cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
