Ingredients/Components

  • granulated sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla extract
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • all purpose flour - 2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • vegetable shortening - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine, softened - 1/2 c
  • 6 oz - 1 pkg
  • firmly packed light brown sugar - 3/4 c
  • macadamia nuts, chopped coarsely - 1 jar

How to make macadamia cookies:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl cream butter, shortening and sugars until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until smooth. Add dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms. Stir in white chocolate and macadamia nuts. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Transfer to wire rack to cool.
