Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- vinegar - 2 qt
- cloves - 1 tsp
- celery seed - 1 Tbsp
- pickling spice - 1 tsp
- lime - 2 c
- pickles, sliced - 1 gal
How to make lime pickles:
Soak pickles in 2 gallons of water with lime for 24 hours. Next day, rinse 2 or 3 times and soak in clear water for 24 hours. Heat the remaining ingredients and pour over pickles. Let stand overnight. Next day, simmer for 45 minutes and seal.May add green food coloring.
