Lentil and brown rice soup
Ingredients/Components
- water - 3 c
- cloves garlic, minced - 3 item
- chicken broth - 5 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- basil - 1/2 tsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- carrots, chopped - 3 item
- tomatoes - 1 can
- lentils, rinsed
- long-grain brown rice - 1 c
- large rib celery, chopped - 1 item
How to make lentil and brown rice soup:
In large pot, combine all ingredients. Bring to boil, reduce heat and cover the pan. Simmer 45 to 55 minutes until lentils and rice are tender. Discard bay leaf. Serves 8 to 10.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Pork sausage, Brown rice.
