Ingredients/Components

  • water - 1/2 c
  • cloves garlic, minced - 3 item
  • ground beef - 1/2 lb
  • oregano - 1/2 tsp
  • basil - 1/2 tsp
  • olive oil - 2 Tbsp
  • parsley, chopped - 1/4 c
  • Italian sausage - 1 lb
  • large onion, chopped - 1 item
  • stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
  • thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • rosemary - 1/4 tsp
  • small can tomato paste - 1 item
  • large green pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • canned Italian plum tomatoes - 4 c

How to make spaghetti sauce:

In a large pan, saute onion, green pepper, celery and garlic in oil. Add sausage and beef; brown. Add tomatoes, paste, water and all of the herbs. Cook for at least 1 hour.

Serve over spaghetti. Sauce should be thick and rich. More water may be added if thinner sauce is desired.
