Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water
- egg yolks - 2 item
- lemon juice - 1/4 c
- butter or oleo - 1 Tbsp
- grated rind of 1 lemon
How to make lemon meringue pie:
Bake pie shell. Blend together the sugar, salt, flour and cornstarch; stir in water. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Stir a little of this hot mixture into beaten egg yolks. Combine mixes and cook a minute longer, stirring constantly. Add lemon juice, rind and butter. Pour into baked shell. Cool.
