- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- butter - 2/3 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- jam - 3/4 c
- cake flour - 2 c
- sour milk - 1/3 c
How to make jam cake:
Cream shortening; add sugar. Add beaten egg yolks and jam. Sift the flour. Measure; add baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg and sift 3 times. Dissolve soda in the sour milk. Add flour and milk alternately to the mixture, beating well. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites and bake in 2 layer pans about 25 minutes in moderate oven (350°).Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Grains.
