Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- flour - 6 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- jam - 2 c
- allspice - 1 tsp
- apple butter - 1/3 c
- strawberry preserves - 1/2 c
- 1/2 sticks butter - 1 item
- sorghum - 2 Tbsp
- peach preserves - 1 c
How to make jam cake:
Mix creamed butter, jam, sugar, peach preserves, strawberry preserves, apple butter and sorghum. Add allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg and soda to flour and sift into first mixture adding buttermilk, a little at a time. Mix well. Bake at 275° for 2 1/2 hours.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Grains.
