Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt
  • water - 1/3 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion
  • medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced - 5 item
  • ground beef
  • basil - 1 tsp
  • jar spaghetti sauce - 1 oz
  • oregano leaves - 1 tsp

How to make italian casserole:

In 12-inch skillet over medium-high, cook ground beef and onion about 10 minutes. Add spaghetti sauce, water, salt, basil, oregano leaves, sugar and pepper. Cook 2 minutes more to blend flavors. In a 13 x 9-inch pan, spoon 1/3 of meat mix; arrange 1/2 of potatoes on top. Repeat layering, ending with meat. Cover tightly with foil; bake at 375° for 1 hour. Remove foil; sprinkle mixture evenly with Mozzarella cheese; bake 10 minutes or until cheese melts. Let stand 10 minutes for easier cutting.
