  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt
  • cold water - 1 c
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • shortening - 1 c
  • unsifted flour - 6 c
  • cakes compressed yeast - 2 item

How to make icebox rolls:

Pour boiling water over shortening. Add sugar and salt; cool. Add eggs. Soak yeast in cold water 5 minutes and add to mixture. Add flour and blend well. Set in refrigerator. Make into rolls by pinching small bits of dough and rolling into a ball, 3 to each muffin tin for cloverleaf. Let raise 1 to 2 hours before baking. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
