Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- sifted flour - 7 c
- eggs, well beaten - 2 item
- lard - 3/4 c
- lukewarm water - 2 cakes
How to make icebox rolls:
Melt lard in boiling water. Add 1 cup cold water. Add yeast. Add eggs, sugar and salt. Add flour. Put in greased bowl and let stand overnight in the icebox. Put on greased and floured cookie sheet in small rolls and let raise 2 1/2 hours. Bake in 400° oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown.Recipe categories: Breads, Vegetarian, Yeast breads.
