Hearty tuna casserole
Ingredients/Components
- cans chunk style tuna - 2 1/2
- 3 c - 6 oz
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- sliced green onions - 1/3 c
- sour cream - 1/2 2/3
- mustard - 2 tsp
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- dried thyme leaves - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 1/2
- small zucchini, scrubbed and sliced - 1 item
- grated Monterey Jack cheese - 1 c
- medium tomato, chopped - 1 item
How to make hearty tuna casserole:
Drain and flake tuna; set aside. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and rinse in hot water. Combine noodles with the tuna, celery and green onions. Blend in the sour cream, mustard, mayonnaise, thyme and salt. Spoon half the mixture into a buttered 2-quart casserole dish. Top with half the zucchini. Repeat the layers. Top with the cheese.
