Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • cup chopped onion - 1/2 item
  • can cream of chicken soup, undiluted - 1 item
  • hash browns, thawed - 1 pkg
  • 1/2 cups shredded Pepper jack cheese - 1 item
  • cup or more sour cream - 1 item
  • diced pimientos, optional - 1 jar
  • cup fresh bread crumbs - 1 item
  • 1/3 cups French fried onions - 1 item

How to make hash brown casserole:

In a large bowl, combine first seven ingredients. Mix well. Spread into an ungreased 11 x 7 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish. Toss bread crumbs with butter; sprinkle over casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes or until bread crumbs are golden brown and mixture is bubbly. Sprinkle French fried onions over casserole. Bake five minutes longer or until onions are golden.
