  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • vinegar - 1/4 c
  • can red beets - 1 oz

How to make harvard beets:

Drain beets, reserving 1/3 cup liquid. In saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in reserved liquid, vinegar and butter. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbly. Add beets and cook until warm.
