Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- cans sliced beets - 2 oz
- dash of salt optional - 1 item
How to make harvard beets:
Drain beets, reserve 1/2 cup liquid. Cook together, sugar, cornstarch, margarine, vinegar and beet juice and salt. Stir constantly until thickened; add beets and cook 5 minutes, covered, on medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Vegetables.
