Bread and butter pickles
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 3 c
- cloves garlic, minced - 3 item
- celery seed
- green pepper, diced - 1 item
- medium onions, sliced - 6 item
- mustard seed - 2 Tbsp
- turmeric
- sliced cucumbers - 4 qt
- sweet red pepper, diced - 1 item
How to make bread and butter pickles:
Place cucumbers, onions, garlic and peppers in a large glass bowl. Sprinkle with and cover completely with cracked ice. Let stand 3 hours or overnight. Drain and combine with the rest of ingredients.
