Ham chowder
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 4 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 4 c
- all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
- margarine - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- diced onion - 1 item
- chopped carrots - 1 c
- celery, chopped - 1 c
- Cheddar cheese - 16 oz
- medium potatoes, cubed - 6 item
- cooked ham, chopped - 2 c
How to make ham chowder:
Bring water to a boil. Add vegetables, salt and pepper. Simmer until vegetables are done. Melt butter in a large pan. Add flour. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat until thick and bubbly. Add cheese. Pour into vegetables. Add ham. Heat thoroughly.
