Grandma's sweet rolls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- sour cream - 8 oz
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour
- butter - 1/2 c
- melted butter
- honey - 8 oz
- yeast - 2 pkg
- walnuts
- lukewarm milk
- eggs and 1 yolk - 3 item
- Add sugar and yeast; let rise
How to make grandma's sweet rolls:
Step 2:1/2 c. melted butter8 oz. sour cream1 c. sugar1 Tbsp. salt3 eggs and 1 yolk Step 3:7 c. flour Step 1: Scald milk; cool to lukewarm. Add sugar and yeast; let rise.Step 2: Mix together the melted butter, sour cream, sugar, salt and eggs.
Step 3: Add mixtures 1 and 2 together. Stir in 7 cups flour. Mix well. Pour some vegetable oil on board and oil hands. Knead until soft. Place in greased bowl and let rise until double. Roll out 1/4 inch thick; fill with nut or cinnamon filling.Grandma's Sweet Roll Filling:1 c. milk1/2 c. butter8 oz. honey1/2 c. sugar5 1/2 c. walnuts Boil milk, then add honey and finely chopped nuts, butter and sugar. Spread onto rolled out 1/4 inch thick Sweet Roll Dough. Roll up; cut 1 inch slices. Let rise in greased pans for 1 hour. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
Can also (instead of nut filling) spread with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
Frost warm with powdered sugar frosting.
