Hard candy



  • water
  • red food coloring - 1 tsp
  • white sugar - 3 c
  • Karo syrup - 1 c
  • cinnamon oil - 1 tsp

How to make hard candy:

Boil sugar, syrup and water to 310°. Remove from heat. Add oil and coloring. Stir. Pour onto buttered pan. Cut in small pieces. Drop in powdered sugar.

Caution: Do not attempt to make this without a thermometer. Keep head away from fumes when stirring oil into mixture.

Note: Other oils and colors may be used.
