Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • chopped pecans
  • milk
  • salt
  • flour
  • brown sugar
  • sticks margarine - 2 item
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • stick margarine room temperature - 1 item
  • vanilla or more to taste
  • large cans sweet potatoes - 3 item

How to make grandma's sweet potato casserole:

Topping:2 c. brown sugar1 c. flour2 sticks margarine2 c. chopped pecans Filling: Mash sweet potatoes in large bowl. (Drain juice beforehand.) Add salt, margarine, vanilla, sugar, eggs and milk. Mix together well or until lightly fluffy. Spread evenly in rectangle casserole pan.

Topping: In medium pot, melt margarine. Add brown sugar, flour and pecans. Stir until well blended and thickened. Spread topping evenly on filling mixture. Bake at 350° for approximately 30 minutes or until topping is browned and bubbly.
