Ingredients/Components
- mixed beans
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- ham bone - 1 item
- ham pieces - 1 lb
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- can tomatoes including juice, chopped - 1 oz
- whole onion, chopped - 1 item
- juice of 1 lemon
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- basil - 1 Tbsp
- carrots, chopped - 2 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
How to make bean soup:
Wash the bean mixture well, then cover with water. Add salt. Soak at least 3 hours or overnight. Put beans (after draining) in 2 quarts water and add remaining ingredients. Cook all day or at least 4 hours. Remove ham bone and excess fat.Recipe categories: For large groups, Soups & stews, Beans.
