Ingredients/Components

  • mixed beans
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • ham bone - 1 item
  • ham pieces - 1 lb
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • can tomatoes including juice, chopped - 1 oz
  • whole onion, chopped - 1 item
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • chopped celery - 1/2 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • basil - 1 Tbsp
  • carrots, chopped - 2 item
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item

How to make bean soup:

Wash the bean mixture well, then cover with water. Add salt. Soak at least 3 hours or overnight. Put beans (after draining) in 2 quarts water and add remaining ingredients. Cook all day or at least 4 hours. Remove ham bone and excess fat.
