  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • box gingerbread mix, prepared by box directions - 1 item

How to make gingerbread with lemon sauce:

Lemon Sauce:4 Tbsp. butter1 c. confectioners sugar1 egg, beaten1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp. lemon juice1 tsp. grated lemon rind Combine butter and sugar in top of double boiler. Place over boiling water and stir until smooth. Stir 1/2 cup hot mixture into beaten egg and return to double boiler. Cook until thickened. Add lemon juice and rind. Spoon over warm gingerbread. Serves 8.
