  • confectioners sugar - 1 c
  • almond extract - 1 tsp
  • margarine or butter - 1/2 c
  • margarine or butter, softened - 1 Tbsp
  • slivered almonds - 1 item
  • cold margarine or butter - 1/2 c

How to make puff pastry:

To prevent crust from getting "soggy" with a cream pie, first sprinkle crust with powdered sugar.

Put mini marshmallows on the bottom of a pumpkin pie and pour carefully the filling. The marshmallows will come to the top for a nice topping.

Pecan Pie With No Nuts: Use unflavored corn flakes, crushed. They will rise to the top the same as nuts and give a delicious flavor and crunchy top.

Meringue will not come away from the crust if it touches the crust all around it.

If pie bubbles over in oven, sprinkle salt on areas and let cool. This causes juice to burn crisp and then can be easy to remove.

All pie crust can be made easier and faster if all ingredients are cool.
