- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- molasses - 1/2 c
- ginger - 1 tsp
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- sour milk - 1 c
How to make gingerbread:
Cream sugar and butter; add beaten egg, then mix sour milk and molasses together, alternately with dry ingredients, sifted together. Pour into a greased and floured shallow pan. Bake 45 minutes in a modern oven at 400°.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
